“No eye has seen nor ear has heard nor mind has even conceived what God has in store for those who love Him.” (1 Corinthians 2:19 quoting Isaiah 64:4)
What blessings the traditional liturgical season has offered us of late: Eastertide, followed by Pentecost, and the month of June’s focus on the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We’ve been encouraged to focus on the fruits of living in Resurrection joy and hope, and the selfless love that Jesus walked out for us during His time on earth. I’ve found myself desiring to make my life about extending love to God and others—God’s deep, divine healing love flowing freely through me. I know that even that thought is a gift from God, God’s grace to me. And it is only through God’s grace that it would be possible to live out. For now, I am grateful for the desire and open to God’s lead. To me, this desire of mine may speak to being made perfect in love—to be free and fearless to love God’s way by God’s power.
The photo is of “EL NIÑO DIVINO”—the Christ child with his arm outstretched offering His heart to us—desiring that we take His love into our own heart and then share that love with others. To me, that might give us a clue of how God makes us perfect in His love.
This month I’m going to simply share a few “nuggets” that have come my way and are written in my journal. Perhaps you can read through them slowly, in a meditative way. Pay attention to what grabs your attention. You may want take a prayer time to allow God to take you deeper into the passage and speak a word to you personally.
Jesus, teach us to live and die for others and to rise with you.
Our sacrifices out of love can also bring life. We can experience the Resurrection as a reality, a real possibility within ourselves—to deeply believe in the power of light to conquer darkness.
Mature love: It’s not about being sinless, but about developing a strong, selfless love for God and others, characterized by patience, understanding, and forgiveness.
God’s love in us: It means allowing God’s love to fully express itself in our lives, as we love Him and love others. We can pray for this grace.
Live open to the depths and heights of the new life to which God calls us.
Perfect love casts out fear. God desires us to become free and fearless!!
Seek first the reign of God, and all things shall be yours as well. This truth has been with me a very long time.
As we endeavor to live the message and mystery of Jesus’ life, may our lives bear witness to our union with God.
Praying for Radical Trust in the goodness of God — For great toward me is your love, Lord.
As we grow in holiness, our prayers become more powerful, we gain Godly wisdom, and we have the ability to persevere. Power, wisdom, and perseverance—gifts we can pray for!!
I’ll end by encouraging myself and all of you to ponder this question with the Lord as we go forward into July. Am I open to hearing what the Lord wants me to do? Remember, God can do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. He has what we need and wants to give it to us!!

Thank you for sharing, Cherry. So many good nuggets in this blog. I always appreciate being reminded of that truth that God can do for me what I cannot do for myself 🙂
